MAMBO VIPI ist eine bunte Trommelband aus Chemnitz. Sie spielen, singen und tanzen verschiedene traditionelle afrikanische Songs und Rhythmen. Gegründet wurde sie 2012 von Arba Manillah aus Iringa, Tanzania aus einem Trommelkurs. Mittlerweile haben sie schon ihr erstes Album aufgenommen. Der Name ,,MAMBO VIPI" kommt aus der Sprache Kiswahili und heißt: "Wie geht es?" Die Lieder und Melodien der Stücke fließen im Konzert zu einer großen Erzählung zusammen und bleiben im Ohr. In den Konzerten wird jeder zum Mitmachen eingeladen, sodass es zu einer unvergesslichen Stimmung kommt. Karibu sana - Hakuna Matata

MAMBO VIPI is a drumming group based in Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany. We enjoy playing the drums ,singing and dancing. Together we play east African traditional rhythms. We started off in 2012 as a drum course, founded by Arba Manillah from Iringa Tanzania. Now we have already recorded our first album. In 2014 we gave ourselves the name "MAMBO VIPI". This is Swahili and means: How are you? The music we play tells stories and in our concerts the melodies form a great narrative. Everyone who is interested can join us! You’re very welcome-

MAMBO VIPI ni kundi mchanganyiko la sanaa ya ngoma kutoka Chemnitz,Saxony Ujerumani. Tunafuraha kwa kupiga ngoma, kuimba na kucheza. Tunacheza ngoma za kitamaduni kutoka Afrika mashariki n.k. Kundi letu limeanzishwa mwaka 2012 kama kikundi cha kujifunza Utamaduni na kucheza ngoma, chini ya mwanzilishi /msanii maharufu kwa jina la Arba Manillah kutoka Iringa Tanzania. Pia tuliweza kurekodi album yetu ya kwanza kipindi hicho. Mwaka 2014 ndipo jina la "MAMBO VIPI" kuanza rasmi. Mziki wetu unasimulia hadidhi za kusisimua, na kupitia vihonyo vya mziki wetu, vina mteka msikilizaji na kumpa hisia nzuri na kumbukumbu.

Kukaye Moto – Eine musikalische Reise durch drei Kontinente, mehr als nur die Mischung aus Reggae, Funk, Rumba und traditioneller Musik aus Ostafrika. Gegründet 2004 von Arba Manillah aus Iringa (Tanzania) hat sich Kukaye Moto zu einem multikulturellem Klangkörper entwickelt der Grenzen überwindet. Die Stücke sind das Produkt aller Bandmitglieder – ihrer Ideen, des musikalischen Hintergrundes jedes einzelnen und geprägt durch Arbas Lebendigkeit und einzigartiger Bühnenpräsenz. Melodien verbleiben im Ohr, die Geschichten der Stücke fliessen im Konzert zu einer großen Erzählung zusammen. Der Name Kukaye Moto, eine Zusammensetzung aus dem Wort „Kukaye“ (Gemeinschaft, Verbundenheit, Einheit) aus der Kihehe-Sprache und dem Suheli Wort „Moto“ (Feuer, Leidenschaft, Energie), spiegelt die Freundschaft und die enge Verbindung der Musiker wieder die über die Musik hinaus geht und sich auf der Bühne in einem drückenden Puls freisetzt. „Washa moto ndani ya nyumba!“ (Entzündet das Feuer auf der Bühne!“)

Kukaye Moto is a live band founded by Arba Manillah in 2004, originally from Iringa in Tanzania, East Africa. ´Kukaye` is a Kihehe word, kihehe being a Tanzanian tribal language, meaning `community` or `home`. `Moto` is a Swahili word meaning ‘fire’ or ‘party’. Currently, Kukaye Moto consists of musicians raised on three different continents. This intercultural collaboration is reflected on stage and results in a sultry pulse. A combination of ‘washa moto ndani ya nyumba’ (burning a fire on stage) of multicultural energy! Arba Manillah came to Leipzig in 2003 and started making music again in 2004 after meeting musicians from other continents. This was when Kukaye Motot came into existance. We recorded our first album ‘Jua lile’ and soon after this the second album was released: ‘Wao wao’. We create a mixture of Afrobeats, Livangala style and use a variety of different instruments, e.g. Kora, Guitar, Cajon, Taman, etc. Our aim is to make music which connects traditional with modern styles.

Nuestra banda, Kukaye Moto, es un grupo formado a partir de su mentor, gurú, líder y maestro de ceremonias Arba Manillah, que se caracteriza por sobre todas las cosas, por su energía y entrega en vivo. De este modo nuestra intención es por sobre todas las cosas tocar música alegre y positiva que contagie y motive al público, así como nos haga sentir a nosotros mismos bien. Nacido en Iringa, ciudad en el Este del así llamado Continente Negro, y más específicamente en la República de Tanzania, nuestro vocalista y cantante Arba, es el encargado de brindar toda la calidez, estilo y sabor que distingue a nuestra música como conjunto. El origen de la palabra ‘Kukaye’ proviene originalmente del idioma tribal ‘Kihehe’, en cuya lengua significa ‘comunidad’ o ‘hermandad’, como también ‘hogar’. El vocablo ‘Moto’ en cambio pertenece inicialmente al idioma ‘Suaheli’, y viene a significar ‘fuego’, como también ‘fiesta’.De momento, Kukaye Moto encarna un ensamble musical de distintas corrientes musicales, así como una formación proveniente de artistas originarios de tres distintos continentes. Esta yuxta-posición de elementos tan dispares, mestizaje de personas y ideas, no hace más que potenciar nuestra creación músical, exprimiendo de manera ecléctica y libre lo mejor de cada cultura y tierra. Lo que se ve reflejado sobre el escenario en la multiplicidad de sonidos, estilos, instrumentos e idiomas, que forman parte de nuestro universo musical, así como en el ritmo, sabor y carácter de nuestro trabajo.
